In Stock! Kawai grand pianos transform craftsmanship into artistry. Drawing upon years of intelligent engineering and technical artistry, Kawai has crafted an exceptional instrument that offers the rich, full-bodied tone of a concert grand in a flexible size. With its resonant tone, smooth touch, and classic good looks, this RX-2 will be an impressive addition to your home or studio. The Kawai RX-2 professional grand piano has long been heralded for its extraordinary touch and tone. The ultra-responsive action featuring ABS Styran found in all RX models was vastly superior to the conventional all-wooden actions found on most other brands of pianos. Hand-made in Hamamatsu, Japan, in 2011, this was one of Kawai's upper-end pianos when sold new.

This is a piano that needs to be seen and played in person. Its larger size and added length contribute to creating a dynamic and powerful instrument with singing treble and sonorous bass range. At 5’10” it is a direct competitor to the popular Yamaha C2X. The instrument is in exceptional condition, featuring a stunning ebony polish finish and a brand-new, padded top, adjustable artist bench.

The Kawai RX-2 Conservatory Grand was extremely popular in the piano teaching community since the day they were first introduced. The RX Series, as a collection, was chosen "Acoustic Piano Line of the Year" by NAMM and was the MMR Magazine's Dealers' Choice Awards in 3 consecutive years (2003, 2004 and 2005).

The RX Series rims are built using cross-binding and lamination techniques to form a structure that is, pound for pound, stronger than steel. The beams are made of select hardwood laminates, glued together under pressure, making them equally strong in all directions and impervious to weather changes and warpage.

This instrument would be ideal for the serious pianist or teacher with discerning tastes and space to accommodate it.
