When Schimmel entered into a strategic alliance with Pearl River, China's largest piano maker, there was nervous hesitation. Would the pianos maintain the impeccable standard for which Schimmel was renowned? The Fridolin line put to rest any concerns. In fact, the exceptional quality at an affordable price point led to expansion of the line, including the Schimmel Fridolin F156 Grand Piano.

Measuring 5'1", this stunning grand is perfect for smaller rooms and domestic settings. With its wide tail design and remarkable craftsmanship, it delivers a full sound that belies the piano's smaller size.

As with all pianos in the Fridolin series, the Schimmel Fridolin F156 is meticulously designed in Germany and then assembled in China. Almost all the parts, from the hammer felt to the Rosslau strings, are produced in Germany; and the final piano is sent to Schimmel's German factory for testing, tuning, and refinement. With this level of detail and quality control, you can be sure the Schimmel Fridolin F156 is up to the highest standards.

The Fridolin series, like the Classic series, tends towards a bright tonal sound, as compared to the darker Konzert class. That's wonderful for players who prefer a light tone to their playing.

Schimmel began in the second half of the 19th century, when two brothers, Wilhelm Schimmel and Fridolin Schimmel, started manufacturing pianos in Braunschweig, Germany. Soon after, the family name became synonymous with some of the greatest pianos of the age – a legacy continuing to this day.

The pair commenced with uprights, but its grand pianos that they aspired to. So it was with the Fridolin series; what began as a collection of pianos for the educational market took flight and has led us to the Schimmel Fridolin F156 Grand Piano. This new grand piano pays homage to the lesser-known brother, offering a solid, robust, affordable grand piano accessible to students and families.
