“While preserving all the qualities of the percussion instrument, the Mason & Hamlin pianoforte also serves magnificently the composer’s concept by its extensive range in dynamics, as well as quality of tone. It is not short of being a small orchestra. In my opinion, the Mason & Hamlin is a real work of art.”

MAURICE RAVEL

Background

From Schimmel's Konzert series to the Mason & Hamlin Model AA Grand Piano, the greatest piano makers are blending their depth of experience with the latest technologies and innovations. The result: the Mason & Hamlin Model AA, one of the finest modern pianos currently available.

Well-balanced between the bass and treble, it also features a precise action; a thick, sturdy frame; and a host of innovative additions like the Tension Resonator.

For an incredible example of traditional craftsmanship and modern computer-aided machinery, look no further than the Mason & Hamlin Model AA.

Specifications

The secret to the Mason & Hamlin Model AA Grand Piano is all in the construction. The rim is created with flat-sawn Hard Rock Maple – one of the strongest and most expensive cuts of Hard Rock Maple. Alongside a Sand-Cast Gray Iron plate, the energy is reflected back towards the soundboard, enhancing the piano's power and sustain.

The Tension Resonator – created in 1900 by Richard Gertz – further strengthens the piano's body. Keeping a steady pressure ensures the piano's dimensions remain unchanged, preserving the vibrancy, voice, and tone for generations to come.

One feature Mason & Hamlin are particularly proud of is the Wessell, Nickel, & Gross Composite Actions. Unlike traditional wooden shanks, these rely on epoxy carbon fiber. This prevents sound variation and ensures the action lasts three times longer. Nor is the action susceptible to heat or humidity – being ideal for any climate.

The Mason & Hamlin Model AA is an exquisite piano suitable for pianists of all abilities. The responsive action and superior sound quality are the hallmarks of quality – it's nothing short of being like a small orchestra.
